Changes There have been major changes to our organisation over the past year First of all Mr Lambert who had been our President for the last 23 years retired from his position at Chesterfield & North Derbyshire Royal Hospital and also from MAAF. Secondly our Chairperson retired together with two of our most experienced advisors and moved on to pastures new. As always when you loose someone who had been a major part of the organisation there is for a time a large hole where these people were. What we needed to do was to look around our members for someone with the skills to step into and fill those shoes (not an easy task) Well as my husband tells me `we don`t have problems just solutions` Well the solutions did take a while but we got there in the end. We now have a new President Mr K Kumar who is Vascular Consultant at Chesterfield & North Derbyshire Royal Hospital. We also have two new advisors and a new Chairperson. Our fundraising team who have now swung into action with their Cake making and Tombola stalls. Speaking of the Fund Raising our Duck Race scooped a massive two thousand pounds for Maaf funds, the money raised from the race has been used for our new Information Packs for new and existing amputees, we are also hoping to restart our quarterly Newsletter and up date our Website. So on we go for this year which started with our first meeting in March, we are never sure what the year will bring but I am sure as always it will be challenging and very interesting. |
